About me
As a child of an RAF parent I have lived all over the world but Harrogate has been my home for many years. I went to Queen Ethelburga’s School when it was on Pennypot Lane and lived most of my adult life here.
As a parent of teenage twins who both passed their driving tests in 2025, I know how important it is to feel confident that you (or your child) is truly ready to drive alone. Teaching my own sons has given me a clear perspective on the standards I expect from every pupil.
I don’t just prepare students to pass a test — I ask myself: if this were my own child, would I feel happy letting them drive off on their own? That parent’s mindset means lessons are focused on real-world safety, confidence and independence, not just test-day success.
I enjoy running /walking in the countryside with our black labrador, Maisie. On weekends you can sometimes you can find me at a local parkrun.
I’ve not always been a driving instructor, I was previously a successful graphic designer, but I decided that I no longer wanted to stare at a computer screen all day and needed more job satisfaction. Helping people learn a life skill and seeing their confidence build is so rewarding, I wish I’d changed careers years ago.
